Resin driveways
A resin bound surface is stone mixed with a clear resin and laid smooth on a solid base. It gives a flat, decorative finish for a driveway or path. A smaller part of Eddie's work, priced job by job.

What a resin driveway involves
Resin bound stone is laid on a solid, prepared base, usually tarmacadam or concrete, and trowelled smooth. The stone and the resin are mixed and laid together, which gives a flat surface that lets water through.
The base matters as much as it does for any driveway, and that part of the job is the same work Eddie does on every surface.
Resin bound stone is porous, so water passes through it into the base below rather than running off, which suits a driveway that slopes towards the house. It needs a sound base under it, which is where most of the work and the cost sits.
Most people asking about resin are weighing it against tarmacadam or gravel. Eddie prices the surface you ask for and says plainly which of the three he would put down on your ground.
- Laid on a solid prepared base
- A smooth, flat finish
- A choice of stone colours
- Driveways and paths

What moves the price
No two driveways cost the same. These five things make most of the difference, and Eddie prices yours for free after a look.
Get a free quote- Length and areaA long lane takes more stone, more tar and more time than a short drive. A bigger area usually works out better per metre, because the machinery comes out either way.
- The baseIf the ground is sound and well compacted, the job is mostly surface work. If it has to be dug out and a new stone base built, that is the bigger part of the price.
- AccessA lorry and roller that can drive straight in make a quicker job than a tight entrance or a run round the back.
- The chip or stoneLocal stone is the plain option. A particular colour brought in from further away costs more.
- DrainageWater has to go somewhere. If the falls are wrong or water sits at the gate, a channel or a soakaway may be needed.
