What we lay
Tarmacadam, tar and chip and gravel are what Eddie does most. Around them, the jobs that go with a driveway: lanes and yards, fencing, groundworks and clearance, and artificial grass or resin where a customer wants them.

What moves the price
No two driveways cost the same. These five things make most of the difference, and Eddie prices yours for free after a look.
Get a free quote- Length and areaA long lane takes more stone, more tar and more time than a short drive. A bigger area usually works out better per metre, because the machinery comes out either way.
- The baseIf the ground is sound and well compacted, the job is mostly surface work. If it has to be dug out and a new stone base built, that is the bigger part of the price.
- AccessA lorry and roller that can drive straight in make a quicker job than a tight entrance or a run round the back.
- The chip or stoneLocal stone is the plain option. A particular colour brought in from further away costs more.
- DrainageWater has to go somewhere. If the falls are wrong or water sits at the gate, a channel or a soakaway may be needed.
Questions
Which surface suits my driveway?
Tarmacadam gives a smooth hard-wearing finish. Tar and chip is a good value option that suits driveways and long private roads. Gravel is the lowest cost and suits yards and lanes. Eddie will tell you which suits the ground and the budget.
Can you take the old driveway out first?
Yes. Groundworks and yard clearance are part of what we do, so the old surface, the soil and the rubbish go before the new base goes down.
Do you do fencing on its own?
Yes. Timber and concrete fencing, on its own or with a new driveway or yard.
Do you do artificial grass or resin driveways?
We do, though they are a small part of the work. Ask Eddie and he will tell you if it suits your job.
